This will make you cry...

From a client in Georgia, what CNN should have been playing instead of all that MJ stuff.  A solider came home to Georgia for burial and a car escorting the body took video in each small town they rolled through on the 35 mile journey. It is rather long and if the accompanying  music doesn't make you cry, nothing will.

Killed in action the week before, the body of Staff Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City Georgia , just south of Atlanta , on June 11, 2009. The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough Georgia . A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time.

Nowadays one can be led to believe that America no longer respects Honor and no longer honors sacrifice outside the military. Be it known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice. Georgia remains one of those graceful places.

The link below is a short travelogue of that day's remarkable and painful journey. But only watch this if you wish to have some of your faith in people restored.

This was sent to me in an email from my sister.  Please do watch the video.  It will make you proud to be an American.  Sadly we have lost several young men and women in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in my area.  Each fallen hero has received  this same kind of 'welcome home.'

Red roseRed heart for our fallen heroes...

So very toucching....no, that's not enough to describe this. I have known several that have fought and served some more than once also. It's not enough that they should serve but they must indeed be honored for that service by those of us here at home no matter what. This is above politics....it is what we must do, we must stand for those that fight for us.

Wow! Having a son that has been to Iraq twice in the past 3 years this was hard to watch. Harder still, he just re-enlisted for another 2 years and is moving from Ft. Hood to Ft. Bliss. We don't know where and when this enlistment will take him. And yes it did choke up his proud daddy.

Thanks Ms. Beth

My friend Beth, it was my honor and my duty to show my respect for the sacrifice given. These men and women who have paid the ultimate price for their country. These young faces that should be making babies instead of making orphans. But alas our duty as those the came before us, is to "protect against all enemies" yes even with our lives. It saddens me greatly that so many fine men and women have fallen. Locked away forever in our hearts the gift that was given.
Peace to you

Oh Beth this did make me cry and gave me the chills. What a lovely and deserving tribute that young man got. I hope you don't mind but I want to copy your blog and the link and send it on. Everyday I pray that we don't have to lose many more of our brave men and women who serve us so well.
