You really looked tough in this picture.  ‘Nam was a tough place to be, but you were tougher.

Your first picture taken when you joined the Air Force.  You were just a kid not yet out of high school.

Hey little bro, I remember the day you were born.  I was 8 years old and I wasn’t very excited to see you.  It just meant more work for me and for Rae and Ebby. We had to take care of you because mom was so busy just keeping the household together.  Despite everything you turned out pretty good.  Despite everything, yes, because Rae and I weren’t old enough to take good care of you so we did misplace you every now and then and you did get dropped a time or two.  LOL

Now you have Karen to take care of you and for that I am thankful.

Love ya little bro.  Happy Birthday!!  I hope you have a zillion more.

    Love  Red heart

    Frosty morning...

but at least it has stopped pouring down rain.  There was frost on the ground and the rooftops and the temperature is hovering at the freezing mark.  My front yard had a blanket of beans that the squirrels are having a field day with.

Back to the insurance.  First, I am sorry I was so dramatic yesterday.  It is not as if I won't be able to have supplemental insurance.  Because Jim retired from civil service through the government I will be offered several different ones to choose from during open season next month and I will have to choose one of them.  My concern is whether or not I get to keep my doctors and if the script coverage will be as good.  Oh well, things have a way of working out.  I will just start making calls next week asking questions.

I definitely need to do some cooking today also some house cleaning but first I need to go by the store and the post office.  I need to dig out a winter coat too.  Give me some ideas on what to cook and you can come over and help me eat it.  (You can help with the cleaning too)

I hope you all have a truly blessed weekend.  Smile at someone and they will smile back at you.

    Happy Birthday Marcia Lynne...

Today, Valentine's Day, is my daughter's birthday.  She was supposed to be born on February 22 but instead she decided to make her appearance on February 14.  To this day her brother has never forgiven me because she was born on a holiday and he wasn't.  LOL  She made her appearance known alright, by crying with the colic for the first year of of her life.

And now she will be aggravated with me because I have mentioned colic again.  Wink  Sorry dear.  I hope you have a wonderful birthday.

    Lots of love from Mom.

******I am really having fun with the iPod nano.  I had 1522 songs on my computer and I have those loaded and all of my picture files and it is not even half full.  To answer a question as to how I would use it...last night I read for a couple of hours while listening to music on low.  I had it set on shuffle and I even heard a Christmas song.  I will take it when I go for walks and I will try it with workout.  I may not like it bouncing around there.

Just so you all know, in the countdown, there are 34 days till Spring!

    Stay safe and be happy!!

    Happy Valentines Day

    happyValentines383

Do you remember Valentine's Day when you were a kid?  Were you from a privileged family where there was plenty of money?  I remember Valentines Day when I was a child as seen through the eyes of one from a poor family. I was #6 of 8 kids and though mom and daddy did their very best, there was never enough of anything.  Especially not enough money to buy valentines to exchange with my fellow students. Of course most of my fellow students came from as poor background as I did.  There were a select few from privileged backgrounds that brought valentines to school to exchange with the other select few. Something pushes you forward when you are not in the privileged few. You strive to move forward and you become a better person for it. That is all well and dandy, but I still would have liked a valentine or two when I was a kid. LOL

Today is my daughter's birthday.  She was one of the nicest valentines I have ever received, although I wasn't sure about that as she cried the first year with the colic. Her brother was born on April 8 and it never did please him that he was not born on a holiday. One of our blogging friends, Linda *Just*  is celebrating a birthday today too.  Stop by and leave her a valentine And yes, Linda, we always got our daughter a heart shaped birthday cake when she was small.

It is cold right now but the temp is to warm up to the upper 40's today.  I can't wait.

I am heading south to the big city for my doctor appointment.  I will tell you all everything she hollered at me about in tomorrow's post.

In the meantime, stay safe and be happy!
