Different ways to enjoy the show…

The hottest tickets in East Central Illinois this week will allow holders through the front door of a house in Philo.

People who just can’t wait until the 7 PM Sunday television show to see the interior of the “Extreme Makeover” home can bid for an in-person preview showing.

Meanwhile, viewing parties at hotels in Champaign and Bloomington are scheduled for $10 per person, with proceeds going to charity.

And a furniture store that helped with the project is having a free viewing party – but suggests that viewers bring food for charity.

For the preview Saturday night tour, WDWS-AM radio station on Thursday morning will auction 5 tickets.  Each ticket is good for 2 people to tour the home before a national television audience sees it on Sunday.  Bidding is expected to top out around $500 a ticket.

The house in Philo was built for Nathan Montgomery, his wife Jenny and their 4 children  because of Montgomery’s work as director of Salt & Light.  It is a charity in Champaign that helps the poor with food, clothing and furniture necessities.  The show also spruced up the offices and warehouse of the 6 year old charity.  Proceeds from the preview tour ticket sales will go to Salt & Light.

If you are interested in seeing the general area where I live tune in to Extreme Makeover Sunday night on ABC at 7 PM CST.  I personally don’t care for this show but I will watch it on Sunday night.

    Lovely day…

spent with friends enjoying  the beautiful scenery in Arcola/Arthur Il in Amish Country.  We ate at the Yoder Country Buffet.  The servers were all Amish and the meal was delicious.  Fried chicken, cheese potatoes, corn, green beans, etc. etc.

We saw lots of buggies but unfortunately none were stopped so I could get a picture.  On the way home we stopped at Curtis apple orchard in Savoy and I purchased some preserves and apple doughnuts.  It was a fun day but I am worn out.

    Hugs,

    Here are the rules....
THE RULES OF THIS TAG ARE:
Each person posts the rules before their list, then list 8 things
    about themselves.
At the end of the post, that person tags and links to 8 other people.
Then that person visits those people's spaces and leaves them comments, letting them
know that they have been tagged, and to come and read the post so they know what they have to do.

    1.  I was the 6th child of 8.  My younger brother and younger sister are my only remaining siblings.
    2.  I was born in Missouri but grew up in Illinois.
